2000.00 USD complete build 1440p (Gaming)

Kickflapper

I was looking to help my buddy build his first gaming PC. The budget is 2k. He needs everything except mouse, headset, and OS. Looking at running 1440p high refresh rate. Ascetics are not important. What is the best bang for the buck?

NEEDS monitor and keyboard also!

Does he prefer either Intel or AMD processors?

Yeah I'm starting to learn that way but for pure gaming the IPC is slightly less

There has been a small kind of backlash on the PR department in AMD. They would compair Intel and AMD CPU's at 4k. They were almost identical. The big difference came at 1080p, which was a clear win for Intel when it was all about gaming.

Considering your "buddy" wants to play 1440p, it's less of an issue?

monitor, keyboard?

steal lenovo keyboard from ibm office and rob a grannie or something for the monitor.

Seriously tough, keyboard you can get for 50 to 70 and 1440p monitor price depends on the size and refresh rate. 27'' 144hz tn panel was 470€ for comparison.

You can prob drop the hdd and get cheaper ddr4 ram( just picked the first one basicly), so you can fit the monitor into the 2k

''Daddy CumTits 2.0'' (pc):

CPU - Intel i7 8700k

GPU - Asus Strix 1080 8gb

RAM - 2x8gb Corsair Vengance

MOBO - Asus Prime Z370-p

PSU - Corsair RM750x

yeah I always consider the monitor as a investment. It can last you multiple gens of upgrades.
