heyyy!!! thats exactly what i have!!! so i hope it still works! the 4 pin is balls deep in and the 20 pin is like 98% but when you push one down the other side comes the 2% up

Ah OK, pull it all out, should be able to with a bit if wiggling and pulling at same time... then look how the connectors fit together when you have them out... then slot them together before putting them in the board, it takes a bit of practice sometimes, but it should be fine.

You can see above the little plastic pieces on the 4 pin that get held down by the 20 pin.

I plugged the 24 pin in but it wasnt like, perfectly on it so i took it off and wanted to put it on again but one of them plastic squares on the cable was left behind in the plug. Is it broken now? can i get it out?the 24 pin still did fit in there and the pins were all up straight. idk what to do or if i even should do something about it.

Well, how deep is it? You may be able to pull the piece out with some pliers, but if not...GG motherboard and PSU.

Maybe a dress pin can be used to extract it. Using the head like a small hook.

It's most likely a 20+4 cable is all, the +4 part is held down by a couple of small plastic holders coming from the side of the 20 pin. Just make sure the +4 is in all the way and insert the 20 making sure the plastic holders are pressing the +4 down still. I'm surprised we still have these TBH in 2018, most PSUs now come with a 24 pin instead of the out-dated 20+4 pin.

didnt even have to take the plastic leftbehind out. just had to take it out, line the 4pin with 20 up and put them back in, the plastic leftbehind just fell back in place. perfection

Yeah, I just meant so you could see how they fit together, so it'd help with the re-insertion... anyway glad you got it back in OK and everything's fine again :D
