So my local Micro Center's stock of Ryzen 5 1400s has been sold out for some time and I want this upgrade finished, so I was looking at a Ryzen 5 1600 + ASRock AB350-Pro4 bundle which I can get for ~$220, and then I need to buy my PSU which would cost another $55, for a grand total of $325 to finish my system upgrade.

I wanted to know a couple things:

1: Is it worth the extra money for gaming to get a 1600 over a 1400?

2: Will I get any kind of bottlenecks running a 1600 with a GTX 780?

Thanks!

How much of a performance impact would it be at 1080p?

Even a FX8350 can max out that GTX780. I'm myself am running a R5 1600 paired with 1080Ti. On more visual demanding games even 1080ti goes 90-99%, given that I play on 2560x1080p res. If you aim to play those esports titles like csgo and stuff, better go with an Intel. Still a king for single core perf, altho with the recent stuff going around and possible 5-30% perf hit it all in the air. All in, Im very pleased with my R5 1600.

little to none. you wont really notice a change. Either one of those CPUs will use the 780 to it's absolute max.

Thanks!

I've run a 1600 with a 1070 and it runs perfectly fine. So I'm assuming a 780 would be fine. It wasn't overclocked either.

1. Yes 100%.

2. No the 780 will be absolutely fine.
