Browsers cause BSOD's when playing video

mortino

So on 2 diff systems, an fx 6300 oc'd to to 4.9ghz with a 1050ti and a 7700k system oc'd to 5.1ghz with a 1080, they also have the same issue at stock, both have an evga supernova g2 650 gold PSU, but running multiple browser videos cause BSOD, chrome will do it almost always, firefox is ok most of the time but randomly if I have 6 video tabs it will do it. This only happens at 4k, 1440p and 1600p never happens but it also bsod's in true 4k tried it twice the 4096 by whatever.
EDIT: should add the GPU fan spins at 100% for 5 seconds before it BSOD's and restarts.

Sounds like a driver issue. Use DDU to remove the Nvidia drivers and install them again.

It's literally just browser video that causes a problem, at first I thought it was flash but html5 does it too, again it is only browser video

Are they on the same driver version? If so Nvidias drivers are probably at fault.

Take out the GPU and run on the integrated graphics to see what happens. If there is a crash its your CPU.

It's been happening for 4 driver versions, on both cards.
EDIT: this has been a problem for over a year, I counter it by putting my 4k screen in 1440p for a lot of browsing but I shouldnt have to do that.

when you get the BSOD, what error message does it give you?

I don't even get one. it;s super weird, GPU fan goes super load for 5 secs and PC restarts, windows says BSOD but there is no log.

It happens on my fx-6300 @ 4.9ghz and my 7700k @ 5.1ghz and on both at stock speeds and both systems with a 1050ti and a 1080. I have tried trial and error so much to see what the problem is but can't figure it out
