Hi again, sorry to bother everyone again. I did replace my Be Quiet Pure Rock cooler with a Noctua NH-15D, I installed it using the thermal paste that came with the cooler instead of the Arctic Silver 5 that i had at home. The thing is though that the CPU temperature is still around 99C but only  thermal throttles a little bit from 4.5GHz to 4.3GHz. the thing is though that i don't know if this is as it should be or if something is wrong.

I feel kind of stupid now sins some did suggest a more expensive water cooling AIO.

So my question is this, is there anyone that have a i7 7820x and had success with Noctua NH-15D? Is the turbo 3.0 speed of 4.5 to much?

And yes you who suggested another solution absolutely have the right to tell me "I told you so"

Probably not on there all the way, reseat it. Also did you make sure to remove the plastic? The NH-D15 should be perfect fine for that chip.

I spent $2500 on building my PC and all i do with it is play no games atm & watch anime at 1080p(finally) watch YT and write essays...  nothing, it just sits there collecting dust...

Builds:

The Toaster Project! Northern Bee!

The original LAN PC build log! (Old, dead and replaced by The Toaster Project & 5.0)

Make sure you're evenly mounting the cooler by gradually screwing the screws down instead of one before the other.

What motherboard do you have? Are yo using the default settings?

What are you using the stress the cpu?

I did as you said and gradually fastened the screws of the cooler. I tightened it down just so it felt secure. I have a msi board, the only change i did in the bios was to turn on the OC GENIE 4 switch, no other changes. Could this be the problem?

The OC Genie switch is an automatic overclock which often uses an excessive amount of voltage and is probably the reason behind your temps. If you're going to overclock, do it manually. Otherwise, leave it turned off.
