So I was on my first build yesterday. I managed to do everything besides cable manegment and quickly tuned on the system to see if everything was working fine. Everything seems to be alright but I noticed the front wasn’t on at all. I have the fractal design define c case so I turned it off and turned it on again and noticed the light flickers on for a bit then goes out again. This happens every time I turn it on, the led just flickers then stops, any suggestions as to what I should do?

Insert the connector the other way (flip the connector around) - leds only work if you get the polarity right ....  and/or double check that both terminals of the connector are on the proper pins in the header.  Some motherboards have the two pins close together, others use 3 pins with one pin unused in the middle.

If it still doesn't work and you're sure everything's inserted properly, probably the led is faulty (for example loose bond wire, the microscopic wires which attach the light emitting diode to the metal leads of the package)

It doesn't do any damage or any difference to the pc if the led is working or not, that's just for you to know not to pull the mains cable while the pc is running or something like that.
