I have a focus drone that has an issue with one of the motors. I found it in the trash so I've been trying to fix it.

One of the rotors doesn't spin as smooth as the other three. I've taken it apart and cleaned out the hair and grass that was in some of the axles and cogwheels.

It still produces a strained whining sound and it doesn't take off. I'm not sure if i should try a bit of lubricant or some loctite on the small cogwheel that sits on the motor.

Well it was probably in the trash for a reason, eh? You might be able to swap the motor with a tiny whoop motor as it sounds like it's a brushed motor, but most of these toys are meant to fly once right into the trash.

Yeah it ended up there for a reason most likely,  but if I can get it flying again it would be great for use as a crash and learn drone ?

Other than the motor there's no damage that I can see.

So it's most likely the motor then?

Probably? Are the props banged up?
