Will a 1600mhz ram work on an 1333mhz capable motherboard, I tried It and It didn't work does that mean that my RAM is dead?

The system should default to 1333 operation unless you set 1600. Double check all connections, and reset bios if that doesn't help.

Look up your motherboard manual to find the location and process, as it can vary. Basically unplug the PC from power (not just switch off). Then do what it says in the manual, and then power up and try again. This removes all custom settings from the bios so you might need to re-enter other stuff if you do this. This can help in case there is some incompatible setting left in there from before.

1333mhz is just the speed that's officially supported. Feel free to ignore the spec and use higher speed ram. 

What do you mean by 'it didn't work'? Is the system failing to post or is the ram not running at the rated speed?

What ram and motherboard are you using?

The system would not start,like it wont fire up.

usinga msi p55 mobo and hyperx genesis 4x2 gb 1600 ram

I have an 1333 motherboard with 1333 memory but I was able to overclock it to 2000 hz Soo depends on the mobo and the ram itself

Can you be more specific please? Have you used the system before with different ram? What exactly is happening when you switch it on? Any sounds, lights etc?

I tried the 1600mhz ram on a working 1333mhz mobo and it wont post but with power, and I tried the ram on an Untested mobo and it won't fire up. Like literally no lights and no power at all.
