First ever PC build.

That's dual channel against quad iirc though.

For some applications where you need a ton of memory bandwidth it's relevant, for your application it might not but it doesn't hurt to get 2 sticks if your motherboard has 4 slots.

Yeah i mean the usual stuff ill have open would be the encoder, chat windows, probably 5-6 tabs and a couple other things for playing music in the background, and 8gb would be good for that?

oh yeah and there are cases where Quad Channel is better (found in enthusiast platform such as X399, X299, X99 lolol)

So wait, does more or less mean more stability? lol

for mainstream platforms (X370, Z370, blabla) Dual Channel is better

Only really the browser and encoder would take up much RAM.

However look for the encoder's system requirements. If you're using OBS you might be fine with 8GB but some other software may use up more RAM and force you to run 16GB (or 12GB but I don't guarantee that sticks of different capacities will work)

We have a NEW and GLORIOUSER-ER-ER PSU Tier List Now. (dammit @LukeSavenije stop coming up with new ones)

You can check out the old one that gave joy to so many across the land here

well that ssd and ram deal is great, and yeah AB350 is one of the mainstream platform. But if you can get something like Asus B350 Prime Plus or AB350 Pro4 from ASRock for the board
