ok so I got a second 1080ti. Tomorrow the temp is going to be -2 Fahrenheit for a high temp. Is it safe to set my computer in the window? I want to see how well it can OC and what to expect lol. Also what are the best settings to get the most out of SLI 1080ti? I have a HB Bridge as well.

Going from hot (or warm) to cold can cause condensation. If you leave it inside so it only sucks in freezing air you should be fine, but don't blame me if anything goes wrong.

you can blow cold air outside into the case for as much cooling as you want, just make sure water dont get in.

 

Best settings depends on individual card's overclocking rusults. Not sure if SLI runs the card at the same clock speed, but still, test individual card's maximum overclock before going SLI.

No, cold air holds less water than warm air, so when a warm object enters cold air water will condense on the object. When cold air enters a warm object, condensation is unlikely.

Are you even reading what I'm reading? OP is putting a computer in warm conditions (assuming the room is warmer than outside) in cold air, so it matches case 3.

 

Besides, how would you explain condensation on a can of ice cold soda? Shouldnt it be dry according to your logic?

its not temps that holds the 1080ti back. dont try it. you wont get anywhere more than you already have with an OC

absolutely 100% not true. Temps are EVERYTHING on Pascal.

 

well mostly everything... BUT THEY'RE IMPORTANT NONE THE LESS!

 

If you can keep the core temp below 40*C, even 35*C, your boost 3.0 will hold HIGHER CLOCKS.

Assuming they will go low enough. I doubt it would be worth it. Oc only yields so many frames. 5 frames isn’t worth the effort to even lift my pc up.

the 1080ti is limited by the architecture. nvidia literally made it so it wont go past certain points. regardless of the temps. you can look up results. nobody can get the 1080ti to OC much
