Trying to print causes browsers to crash (Chrome/Firefox)

When printing a webpage, both Chrome and Firefox crash.

Chrome crashes when I change the printer selection to the network printer, Firefox crashes when I click the print button.

MS Edge refuses to connect to the printer at all.

I can print from any other program (Word, PDF etc.)

In my house this is happening on my desktop, Surface Pro, 2 ASUS laptops and an HP laptop.

 

There are hundreds of results on Google for this type of problem, and all suggest clearing cookies, scanning for malware, reinstalling drivers etc which I have tried.

Any advice or suggestions would be much appreciated.

 

Printer: Ricoh Aficio SP C240SF (LAN)

Windows 10 64-bit

Intel i5 2500k

Gigabyte P67A-UD3-B3

16GB Corsair DDR3-1600

Nvidia GTX 780

Corsair 750W PSU

It might be due to some other software, I know FoxIt PDF Reader in the past caused similar issues because of their faulty Print To PDF printer.

 

Do you have any other printers installed like a PDF printer, etc? You can try getting rid of those printers temporary and see if your crashing stops.

Did you install the printer's software, or is using Windows's drivers to run?

 

Sounds like the problem is the software of the printer crashing.   If you installed the software for the printer, you could try to let windows install it's own drivers.

 

Recently I had a lot of issues with Windows's updating with faulty drivers.
