I'm having an issue where my PC is not registering my full 16GB of ram for some reason. The computer is using a 6 slot motherboard with 4x4GB Ram. It was registering just a few days ago but after I transferred all the hardware to a new case I had this issue appear. I checked the bios and it is only registering 8GB, however in task manager and speccy it is recognizing I have 16GB plugged in (only 8GB usable). I have individually checked and determined only the middle two slots of the 6 will allow the pc to boot to bios, and that all of the sticks are working (tried them separately to make sure). I'm at a loss because bios says 8GB but windows is telling me 16GB with 8gb hardware reserved? I've gone through all the general windows tweaks for Ram recognition and nada. I was thinking maybe a dead dimm slot but it's weird how windows/speccy can recognize all of the ram is slotted. Any suggestions are welcomed.

Did some looking around and the only thing that I can come up with is that it could be a BIOS limitation but then that again wouldn't be correct because the website that I found says 24gig ram is the max.  I'm still looking.
