Wierd resolution problems with television.

When I connected my TV to my computer it looks "zoomed in" I assumed the problem was that my monitor and my TV are different resolutions, but changing my 1680 by 1050 monitor to 720p didn't change anything, maybe the bezels overlap the panel, but everything else I connect looks normal, what should I do?

I am using a DVI cable to connect to my monitor, and a DVI to HDMI to connect to the TV. the TV is 720p.

Please don't argue with me, I am just trying to help, or be helped. (we are all humans right?)

Try messing with the resolution of the TV itself

tried that, seems like I need to have a smaller resolution, but that just makes it worse.
