Edge can sometimes be a bit annoying to use.

 

I'd recommend using Firefox or Vivaldi instead.

If you've done all the usual things like making sure you have no weird extensions installed and have the latest windows updates installed, you could try a repair, or a reset, from Settings > Apps and Features > select Edge and click "Advanced options".

 

Ignore that it shows usage as 0 bytes, even though I've been using Edge as my only browser since the last time I installed windows, it's always shown here as 0 bytes. Not sure why.

 

I had to reset once when it would randomly stop connecting to local addresses, like my router and switch configuration pages.
