You need to clear CMOS Set ram at 2133 Update the bios. And retry

Drop memory speed to 2666 or 2400. Your chip might not like the higher speed memory at stock voltages.

PC gets “server exception error” every time I start it

My new pc was going great. I tried changing the target speed on the ram in bios. Didnt work. Back to default settings. Didnt work. Ive tried clearing cmos multiple times. Is it corrupted ram and what do i do thanks.

What does "didn't work" mean? Fans not spinning up? No post?

Want to know which mobo to get?

Spoiler

Choose whatever you need. Any more, you're wasting your money. Any less, and you don't get the features you need.

Only you know what you need to do with your computer, so nobody's really qualified to answer this question except for you.

you will also have to adjust the voltages and the timings for it to run at the rated speed

CPU: Ryzen 1700@3.9ghz; GPU: EVGA 560 Ti 1gb; RAM: 16gb 2x8 Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4-3000; PCPP: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/b3xzzM

What did the blue screen say? It would have given you a specific error message, eg "Bad_pool_caller"

Disconnect the PSU from the power cord to the wall. Remove the RAM. Pull the CMOS battery out. Hold down on the power button for 10-12 seconds. Put the RAM back in. Make a bootable USB with MemTest86 on it (a bootable Ubuntu distro works as well, as they include MT86). Boot to MT86 and let it run overnight. If you truly do have corrupt RAM, it will start throwing errors. If you don't, it will look fine in the morning, and the CMOS reset will likely have taken care of everything.

Now, it's entirely possible that something happened to corrupt Windows. That's a different fix. If you can get into Windows, open an elevated command prompt and type:

sfc /scannow

If you can't get into Windows, you'll have to reinstall through boot media. If you set it up as an upgrade installation, it won't wipe out your files.

Pretty sure its messed up ram going to buy some more and see

Pretty sure it's AID's

Anyways, changing a setting in bios isn't likely to cook a stick of ram unless you threw some crazy voltage at it.  I would focus on ensuring your computer is running within spec before buying a new product.

edit: it is also far more likely that you corrupted your OS data with a bad clock than damaged your ram.

Audio go Brrrrrr

Have you run MemTest86 yet? It's pretty hard to randomly kill RAM unless one of the sticks was bad when you bought it, and you can save yourself the hassle of a return by using MT86 to troubleshoot.
