so looking at motherboards today and i came across the asus rog Maximus IX Hero in the lga 1151 family what is the difference between this one and all the strix motherboards in the family

these are the ones im talking about https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01NBHXSP6/_encoding=UTF8?coliid=I2EVXD1XIPAQDI&colid=2D5I8S983V94L&th=1. also what is the intel optane memory like is it ram or a m.2 ssd or does it act as both should i get intel optane memory or a intel m.2 ssd also if intel optane memory can function as a m.2 drive what would be better

i believe the vrms are better on the former, not sure what else tbh, sorry

optane is basically cache for a hdd, its very expensive and not worth it atm

dont bother with intel ssds, i hear people saying they're slower than budget ssds from crucial(mx300)

so i would instead say get a crucial mx300, bx300, adata sl308(something like that) or an 850 evo from samsung

intel optane memory is a m.2 stick which boosts significantly the performance of a hard drive to the performance of a great ssd. It costs only $100. You cannot use it as a storage device unless you have the PCI e card (which is super fast storage like an m.2 ssd) Also the hero maximus boards are generally more expensive for their 10gbs net speed and AC or AD wireless. Also it have more PCI e slots, has more m.2 slots and great amounts of RGB?! Hopefully this helps.

Used to be everywhere in LTT forums, had a break which lasted apparently 1 year LOL.

Gonna get up againnnn.

Wake me up if I sleep again like Oppy.
