I created a windows mirror pool for 2 5TB HDD's. Im trying to clone my current 1TB drive over to the array but i keep getting a sector size error. From doing a little bit of research my WD 1 TB blue drive uses 512 bytes/sector and the Windows pool array uses 4096 bytes/sector. When i cloned my 1 TB HDD to the single 5TB hdd not in a pool, everything worked. If anyone knows a way to change the secort size in a windows 10 pool or a software other than macrium reflect that will allow me to do this please let me know.image.png.ba4fc244d2cca7236957344695f5fe98.png

Win10 runs all HDD at the 4k sector. WD does have a utility that converts from 512 sector to the 4k sector. They're for old drives, your drive may not work. Backup data before using utility, cause there will be a very high chance it will get corrupted.

Could this have also been why on the disk management program the option for mirror isn't available unless you create the pool first?

yeah. Im using windows 10 home and I setup a mirrored pool which i guess is the same as raid 1.

I personally never used windows RAID because you have to setup the HDD as Dynamic, where the drive cannot be viewed from another computer, unless you you perform some additional steps . Before any of those new RAID solution existed, I used to just run RAID from the motherboard or Intel RAID.

Okay so that chipset don't have RAID support. Looks like your only option is through Windows or a SATA RAID PCIe card.

I think im probably just going to try to do it through windows. I was reading somewhere that you needed windows 10 Pro in order to do mirroring but i'm still not sure if thats the case since i have it setup (I think). Ill probably backup the data then use the 512 to 4k sector, then try to clone it to the array. Anyway thanks for the help.
