I just got bias lighting for my monitor for christmas and the rf wireless remote that came with it uses the same frequency as my brother's so when i use my remote it changes his lighting. we have different brand strips and are in adjacent bedrooms. can anyone help?

Depending on the unit you have you can try pairing each separately to see if it helps to isolate each system.

the instructions didn't properly pair it. I might be a potatoe or it just doesn't work (i've tried like 10 times). This is the strip i have i have https://www.amazon.com/dp/B06XDMRYSB/_encoding=UTF8?coliid=I25JYZ4DGWN010&colid=EYQBVSXY8H06&psc=0

also thanks for moving my thread, had no idea where this one went

Hmm it should use the same setup process as these devices really are just copies of each other, the only difference really is it being a 5V version. It might cycle through different frequencies so keep doing the pairing process a few times to test and see if it finally matches up individually so they don't talk to the same controller.

also both controllers are talking to both strips. if that info is relevent and if i haven't said that yet

Hmm sounds like they are stuck on the same frequency, if the pairing doesn't seem to be working and changing the frequency for one controller and remote set then I'm not sure if there is much that can be done.

Could i get another remote for the same strip? and on a different frequency?

It still has to be done via the pairing process, the pairing should automatically change the frequency so it isolates that set from another set. I'm not sure why it's not working for you but make sure you do the process separately for both sets.

That would solve the issue as it's an IR system instead of RF, it will require you to point directly at the receiver same as a TV remote for it to change the lighting effects
