Probably not, I had to use a fair amount of force to get my stock cooler on(granted I was on FM2, not AM4).

And if it runs fine then there was no damage done? Nothing that would rear its head down the line?

Is it just me or is it difficult to install the wraith spire? When I put it on, I had to apply a good amount of vertical pressure for the screws to meet the holes and thread properly. Is this pressure bad for the cpu? Could I have damaged it doing this?

no, tighten them all the way

I did tighten them, the issue was the pressure I had to apply so that the screws would initially meet the holes.

The only problem I had with my system was an inadequate CPU and recently a bricked PSU. If your board is noticeably flexing, definitely let off the pressure on the screws by a little bit. If not, no reason to worry.

It's fine, my cooler took a lot of force to screw down as well.
