I suggest you start by describing your setup more consicely.

"the new Asrock motherboard" is which model?

What model is your m. 2 SSD?

What do you mean by "putting it as drive"?

Where is it not showing up? In windows? During installation?

I understand you are lacking experience but you need to describe the situation.

You have to format it first in diskmgmt.msc inside Windows.

I am assuming you have installed the M.2 drive and have booted into Windows 10 but can't find it?

Right click on the Start button and got to Disk management. If your drive is appearing there in the list (you may have to scroll down), then check if it has a drive letter assigned. If drive letter is not assigned (i.e. no C:/D:/E:/etc. which is what I suspect), then

(a) right click the black barred unformatted space (if the space appears unformatted) and click on 'New SImple Volume'. Keep clicking next until you hit Finish. Drive letter should be auto-assigned (unless you change it) and your drive will appear.

(b) if drive already appears formatted, right click and select 'Change Drive Letter and Paths', then select 'Change'. Proceed and a drive letter will be assigned to your drive and it will show up in Windows Explorer.
