Looking for some help on which GPU to buy for a family member that's using software called 2020 design

the min specs are listed here - https://www.google.com/search?q=2020+design+system+requirements&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&client=firefox-b

I was hoping maybe someone on these forums have used the software and could recommend a decent budget card. There's several 700 series NVidia cards out there that meet the min req's but it seems that the program may be more cpu/ram heavy than anything else. should I fork over the extra $70 USD to get a 960/1050 or is it a waste of time?

Hi, I've been involved with computer hardware for about 26 years, and with 2020 for about 18 years.  I used to be the Manager of the 2020 West Coast support center.  I also use 2020 to create catalogs and designs on a daily basis... So in saying all that I am comfortable recommending hardware.  I have always had great success with the ATI line of products.  You do not need to have the "gamers" cards, way too expensive!  I have an ATI Radeon 2600XT (about 2 years old) with 512MB RAM running two monitors and it's works wonderfully!  I remember buying it on sale for $99, so no need to spend more than that I'd say!  and don't worry about the OpenGL compatibility, ALL cards will have that these days.

Hope this helps!

I guess you're better off with a AMD gpu.
