So basically i have a gaming pc with 16gb ram an i5 7400 and a 1060 6gb and want to add another, just one card for mining. what would be the best card for the money if i intend to start mining

You won’t make money from mining with a single card and the investment is stupid.  BUUTTT I would say take like a 1080 Ti and try to pay it back with mining. It’s not worth it.

Well first of all you would need a $300 processor (for the pcie lanes) and second of all, you'd need at least 2 rx 580s to make a dent in anything.

The processor you have is fine.  Ethereum likes AMD cards, so the BEST card would be VEGA.  The smartest card (most ETH per WATT) would be a 580.  Honestly, you just need a CPU with 16 lanes to run the PCIe lanes.  A pentium will do that.  Your 7400 will do that.  If you want to buy the cards to mine you can, but there are no guarantees that the price will stay where it is or continue to go up.

Yes. I have a 580 4GB earning me almost $3 a day on Zcash. My 1060 6GB also earns about $3 a day on Zcash too

just at the moment would it be safe to have a 1060 6gb running 24/7 with the average temp at 70 degrees Celsius (about 158 degrees Fahrenheit)
