Hello,

I want to upgrade my GPU and monitor I have chosen the Predator x34 and I know that the x35 is coming and it will be probbaly not more that $1200 so I want to pair the new monitor with a 1080 ti-like performance. Is it better to see the performance of the new Volta GPUs and then decide which Video Card to get or buy everything now.

Volta for the mainstream might not even come out as so far it has been market solely as an enterprise solution with its Tensor Cores... even if  consumer version comes out it will take several months from now.

It is a matter of needing it now or being able to wait 5~7months for the "possibility" of it coming out or not, besides taking the TITAN V for reference it is safe to say a supposed GTX 2080 will be a lot on pair with what the 1080 Ti is, probably just further more efficiency for the same tier of power... and the GTX 2080 Ti won't be out before 2019 which would be the one card to make a difference.
