Which laptop should I buy?

Bleque

Which is the better pick? These laptops are priced exactly the same. I'm leaning toward the first option since there's nothing I really don't like about it, but I've got some reservations on the processor. I've read on some forums that AMD Bristol ridge performs poorly. Anyway, I'll install an additional RAM whichever I pick.

I'll use the laptop as my everyday work machine, but nothing heavy since I have a desktop at home. I'd be carrying it around during lecture sessions, but I want to at least casually game when I'm lounging at the faculty room. Any help is appreciated. thanks!

Surely Laptop 1 is superior on pure specs at least?  Personally i look at build quality a lot more these days. Touchscreen is soooo nice btw.

i will prob lean towards the 1st laptop as well

the SSD is a must for today PCs

the AMD APU will run hotter and drain the battery but at least the GPU is way more powerful than the 2nd one

i will suggest adding another 4GB stick to make it 8GB RAM

4GB is not enough for gaming

prob older games will run fine

the MX150 is like a GT940M

it actually much slower than the RX 460

Just looking at the specs alone I would say #1.. I like that it has a SSD  and a better video card.

If you want casual gaming I might see if you can find a something with a 1050 or 1060 if that the CPU / Video card fits within you budget.

I also found  a CPU comparison that show AMD is faster in this case.

MX150 is on par with 950M with much less power consumption

That's why I said MX150 or higher...

Those benchmarks aren't reliable, also you compared 7500U with a desktop FX9590. AMD last gen mobile APUs have very slow performance, the new Ryzen U CPUs are much better.

the memory bus on the RX 460 is wider than the MX150

128bits vs 64 bit

both have same clock speeds but the bandwidth on the RX 460 means slight faster fps.

Also if memory serves me correctly

there is a hybrid CrossFire with the APU and dGPU

sorry also i still feel the 1st laptop is worth more because of the SSD

the deal breaker for the 2nd laptop is the slow HDD

I haven't considered build quality actually, thanks for pointing that out since I'd be moving the laptop pretty often.

thanks. I'll definitely install an additional ram. I'll use it as my secondary machine anyway, so I'm not really expecting much from it. The SSD, though is total bonus.
