At the end of this year im getting the hyperx alphas. Are there any headsets that are much more worth it for like 140 bucks? I need them to have a mic.

Not sure if the ALPHA really worth the extra cost compared to the Original Cloud though.

M40X because its a closed back similar to Cloud Alpha and its highly praised even better than its bigger brother the M50X.

Its an over ear headphone and the headphone clamp just about enough to stay on your head.

 

Phillips sph9500 is an open back over the ear.

Dont know about the MDR though i think its better than M40x but not sure if its fit your budget because in here its ridiculously expensive around $110-$250.
