What is the GTA V root folder and where is it located?

I've been using this guide to figure out how to install mods to GTA V on PC, but I can't figure out where the root folder that I'm supposed to install ScriptHookV and ScriptHookVDotNet to is. Where is it? Thanks!

the GTA V root folder is the GTA V folder itself. So if you use Steam go to the Steam Library folder GTA is installed on, steamapps,common, then just open the GTA 5 folder.

Go into steam right click on GTA V then click properties then browse local files

Found it and installed the first two. I'm afraid I missed a step or two though, did I? All I did was extract the two files I mentioned in my original post, but the quick start guide I linked says I was supposed to create some sort of folder...

What the guide was probably telling you to do was create a copy of your GTA folder somewhere else on your PC because uninstalling mods to play online is a pain and it's easier to just swap the folders out so you don't have to go through the installation process every time. There are lots of videos on youtube you could check out if you do run into problems but most likely the only step you missed was creating the copy of GTA so you have an unmodded and a modded folder.
