I'll wait a little and see if I can't up my budget for 27" 1440p 120Hz+ and IPS which it all seem to be TNs

Any recommendations there? :P

ok ill get stupid for a second here a couple i find really interesting

AOC Agon AG352QCX - freaking 200hz, 21:9 and still managable res for gaming

LG Electronics 34UC79G-B - 144hz, IPS,

Acer XF270HUAbmiidprzx - 144hz, IPS,

HKC NB34C - 100hz, IPS, 21:9, 3440x1440

those are all quite a big budget jump but i guess thats whats needed if you want high refresh rate and no tn

if those are all to pricey id still go with a regular ass 60 hz IPS over anything TN, and then VA is somewhere in the middle

if its worth it to you id go for one of those, if not id just get the iiyama ProLite X2788QS-B1 and be done with it

So I was browsing displays and came up with this comparison.

1) AOC G2770PF 27" 1080p 144Hz TN

2) AOC U2879VF 28" 4K 60Hz TN

3) iiyama G-MASTER Silver Crow GB2783QSU-B1 27" 1440p 75Hz TN

Which one would is the better one for overall use gaming, watching movies, ...?

My specs are down below.

why are you pushing so hard for TN?

"You know it'll clock down as soon as it hits 40°C, right?" - "Yeah ... but it doesnt hit 40°C ... ever  😄"

GPU: MSI GTX1080 Ti Aero @ 2 GHz (watercooled) CPU: Ryzen 5600X (watercooled) RAM: 32GB 3600Mhz Corsair LPX MB: Gigabyte B550i PSU: Corsair SF750 Case: Hyte Revolt 3

well id say if you are bothered by 5ms reaction time then its seems you might be the person to appreciate a 144hz panel more than better color or resolution me personally id get that 1440p IPS but different people are different no judgement here.

This is the full comparison when I remove the 144Hz and add the 1440p IPS since I don't think it's worth to get 1080p 144Hz over 1440p 75Hz for the same amount of money.

I'm not sure how big the difference between TNs and IPS still are and I also don't know how big of a difference the 1ms vs the 5ms is.

Then if you can get a 4k display for barely more than a 1440p would it be an improvement or is 1440p still the sweetspot, especially for gaming (don't think I can run 4k games well on a 1070) but does Netflix for instance look better on a 1440p screen?

depends on the game you're playing, if you're playing an easy to run casual game, get 4k. if you're playing an easy to run competitive game (CSGO) get 1080p144+hz or 1440p144hz

I don't like games like CSGO or PUBG.

I play games like shadow of war, AC: Origins, Borderlands Pre-sequal and some LoL so I think 75Hz would suffice but then it's the difference between 4k , 1440p and IPS vs TN.

1440p 144Hz would be nice but do you know one under €300? :)

well again this is just me and my experience talking but i wouldnt go higher than 1440p ffor gaming and escpecially not if it meant TN over IPS. id go for 1440p and IPS. but again im very casual so it depends of the types of games you play

hmm yeah that will be quite the problem, I do see one for 379 euros which is 24" and one for 455 euros which is 27"

but these is a 75 hz 1440p 31" monitor for 199 euros, so maybe that's the ideal monitor?

set the prices to belgian prices in the top right, still 199 :)

edit: just saw that it will take quite a long time to be delivered since they don't have it in stock

Since I started working I can't call myself a gamer anymore, don't have the time to play for hours a day so yeah I'm a casual too and games like shadow of war and origins are too demanding for 4k so idd I might look at a 1440p ips.

Looks nice although i'd be 213 after shipping I see but 250 cd/m² and MVA panel are not really great but yeah if you want cheap that's what you get I guess :P

Now I lean towars the iiyama G-MASTER Silver Crow GB2783QSU-B1 which is the TN 75Hz 1440p but now I'm going to look at other sites too :P 60Hz too >.<

Send an email to the webshop and in an hour I would have a reply.

yeah you cant go off of the vertical / horizontal number as far as i know there has to be a general value with no vertical / horizontal specification

yeah no clue in this. normally id say check with the manufacturer but .....

also i just noticed at iiyamas site they mention it has something called overdrive

so im guessing iiyama offers a oc mode alsready for it so id say its safe to assume it will go past 60 but not sure how far

Sidenote:

The webstore answered already saying that iiyama ProLite B2783QSU-B1 has a 75Hz but the other two I mentioned are probably wrong they will update their website asap so I guess the iiyama ProLite B2783QSU-B1 is now my first choice.

but its tn

id rather stay with ips at 60

i think the sifference bewteen 60 and 75 is also not as noticable as say 120+
