1070 or 16GB

I was building a system for $1000 for my friend and I am faced with a dilema. This is the current build

I was wondering what would be better for PURE gaming. A 1060 6GB w/816GB RAM or a 1070 with 8GB of RAM.

I agree with @CUDA_Cores, your friend can always get another 8Gb memory

Gtx 1060 6gb vram vs 1070 8gb vram.. hmm.. gtx is better than the extra 8 gb of ram. You don't need that much.

It's a little sad that this even needs to be a decision, RAM is just too expensive right now.

 

That said, RAM is easily uprgraded so unless your friend needs that RAM for some reason then go with the 1070.

816GB of RAM for less than $1000? Buy and resell, you'll make thousands of dollars.
