endless reboot loop mobo or ram dead?

Go to solution Solved by WilliamDB,

If you can, try installing other ram in the system and see if it will post. That will tell you if the ram is bad or whether the CPU is bad.

If you don't have extra ram lying around, try putting in only one stick at a time and see if it will post.

I have a feeling the ram wasn't seated correctly or was bumped and wasn't making contact with all the pins.

hey guys i need your help again

yesterday i tried unlocking the l3 cache in my cpu so i went to the bios activate the unleashed mode and saved and restarted the pc didn't post so i pressed the reset button the pc didnt post again so i went to the mobo and cleared the cmos and now the pc enters an endless loop of reboots it revs up all the coolers for 1 sec and reboots again no beebs whatsoever  so i started troubleshooting i removing all the hardware conected to the mobo until i was left only with the ram and cpu and the pc still went to the endless loop so i removed the ram and for the first time in hours the mobo shows some life the coolers rev up and stabilize and then the mobo starts emitting the beep code for lack of ram

so did i killed the mobo or the ram or even the cpu memory controller?

ps:the cpu was oc to 4ghz during all this you can see my pc specs in the sig

I'm not an audiophile, I'm just really picky about my music... and my headphones... and my speakers... and my microphone. Other than that, I'm totally not an audiophile.

In my experienced opinion I'd say the RAM is bad. I'd take it somewhere that I could test all the components before buying a replacement part, but if you don't have that luxury I'd just buy another stick of RAM.
