hey guys i really dont know where to put this so if someone knows a better place for it feel free

to the point

im working on my sidepanel display and wanted to make a list of what system data would be cool to visualize

whether or not or how i get that data is irrelevant - right now im just trying to make a list of what data there is about a system

here is my list and im posting this to see if anyone has any other ideas for properties i might have missed

CPU

 - voltage

 - temperature

 - clockspeed

 - usage

 - PER CORE individually

    - temperature (if available)

    - clockspeed

    - usage

RAM

 - usage

MOTHERBOARD

 - VRM temperature

GPU

 - voltage

 - temperature

 - core clock

 - memory clock

 - usage

per HDD / SDD

 - temperature

 - usage

 - write actvity

 - read activity

NETWORK

 - traffic up

 - traffic down

WATERCOOLING

 - pump speed

 - water temperature

 - fan speed

OTHER

 - forum / youtube / whatsapp / missed calls notifications

 - weather

"You know it'll clock down as soon as it hits 40°C, right?" - "Yeah ... but it doesnt hit 40°C ... ever  😄"

GPU: MSI GTX1080 Ti Aero @ 2 GHz (watercooled) CPU: Ryzen 5600X (watercooled) RAM: 32GB 3600Mhz Corsair LPX MB: Gigabyte B550i PSU: Corsair SF750 Case: Hyte Revolt 3

Check out rainmeter. You can probably find a skin for each of these.

Since I am to lazy to put something interesting here, I will put everything, but slightly abbreviated. Here is everything:

also,

Welcome to the internet, I will be your guide. Or something.

yeah rainmeter doesnt work on iot and only gives you the data of that system what im doing is reading it off the main system then sending it to a pi running iot and that then displays the data in some cool animated way i havent yet implemented ;)

hmmm i ddont wanna clutter it with RSS Feeds but the weather maybe ill think about it thanks

Is it one of those fancy translucent window panel or solid display as the panel?

And I suppose it'll be placed on the table for easy viewing?

fancy? no since im doing it the execution is gonna be "not as clean" as maybe a production model from ibuypower or something but translucent? yes i have the panel ready just not yet integrated into the sidepanel

and yes itll be on the desk

VRM temps?

Ethernet/WiFi data in/out?

VRM temp is a good idea thanks ill see if i can actually get it somehow but its definitly on the list

Network activity is also a good point ill have alook into avm maybe i could even get network activity of other devices on the network

ELK works well. Or just the EL part and feed it into a pretty interface like grafana.

Ofc that requires some work, but it's pretty fun to play around with

Main Rig: R9 5950X @ PBO, RTX 3090, 64 GB DDR4 3666, InWin 101, Full Hardline Watercooling

Server: R7 1700X @ 4.0 GHz, GTX 1080 Ti, 32GB DDR4 3000, Cooler Master NR200P, Full Soft Watercooling

LAN Rig: R5 3600X @ PBO, RTX 2070, 32 GB DDR4 3200, Dan Case A4-SFV V4, 120mm AIO for the CPU

HTPC: i7-7700K @ 4.6 GHz, GTX 1050 Ti, 16 GB DDR4 3200, AliExpress K39, IS-47K Cooler

Router: R3 2200G @ stock, 4GB DDR4 2400, what are cases, stock cooler

I don't have a problem...

If you are looking for software that gives you base to work on, HWiNFO64 is the one for all system data.

thanks ill check it out but im using whatever gives me the values im looking for. right now thats a mix of system performance counters and openhardwaremonitor library

Lol sorry. ELK = Elasticsearch, logstash, kibana. 3 tools that are most often combined to provide a fairly powerful monitoring/logging tool.
https://www.elastic.co/products

Grafana is here: https://grafana.com/

You can use a variety of logging/monitoring tools to feed data into it, and the interface is IMO prettier than kibana, and would probably serve you better for the kind of monitoring you want. But it also probably would take up more resources.

very interesting stuff thanks ill look into it but i might still do stuff myself and go for a more custom look if you know what i mean i just really like using templates but ill definitly have a look into grafana looks pretty good.

no worries. this stuff is mostly what I use for server monitoring rather than home stuff, but it CAN do that well, so thought I'd at least throw em out there as potential solutions. GL with your endeavours.
