Hello all,

I'm needing help searching for hardware to accomplish what I'm looking to do. I am not expecting this endeavor to be inexpensive. My goal is to build a machine that is capable of capturing 10 separate video sources simultaneously. What I am likely looking at is using 10 of the elgato game capture 4k60 pro cards. I'm trying to find a motherboard, case, and likely risers that allow for 1 16x slot and 10 4x slots.  From the GPU and capture cards, I'm looking at 56 pcie lanes, so likely it will be a tr4 system (thread ripper or epyc). On thread ripper, that would leave 8 free for possible 2 nvme drives in raid (lots of bandwidth to capture video).

If anyone knows of a motherboard that supports up to 11 pcie slots with at least 56 lanes, I would love some assistance.

11 slots, that's server-grade stuff man.

What i would do is contact supermicro, or a similar brand that sells server-grade hardware. i know they have servers that have 12 pci-e slots but i can already tell you, that's going to be expensive AF.

I mean you can ghetto something together but i would do it properly from the first try.

edit: it's stuff like this that you need

There are no TR4 boards that currently meet your specs.  A 4 PCIx16 slot board with something like these

https://www.amazon.com/Supermico-RSC-R2UU-2E4E8R-Riser-Pci-Active/dp/B006DJ2YU6 could maybe get you there if you can fit the capture cards using risers of some kind.  Sounds interesting and a royal pain in the booty....

Yeah, I'm not expecting it to be cheap by any means. My main concern is being able to capture all the video streams simultaneously and individually while also switching them. Super micro already has a dual TR4 motherboard out, but it's very proprietary and doesn't seem to support so many pcie slots itself.  I'm sure they would be willing to build one at a massive premium, though. (if epyc is the platform I must go for this, so be it.)
