I got a ryzen 1700, a msi x370 gaming plus mobo, and 16gb 2x8 3000mhz corsair vengeace lpx ram

Got ram stable with xmp profile 2, 2933mhz, 15-17-17-35 cas, 1.35v Vcore, 1.2v SOC, and 1.4v Dram

I have before got 3.9 ghz stable, at 1.4v vcore, but I cant replicate no matter what I do. when I turn it on, it just boot loops, and I cant get into bios

Is there any setting I am missing that could help me get this OC stable?

thanks for any help

btw CPU cooler is wraith spire, but I'm not hitting any thermal limits

I found it easier to OC the CPU prior to meeting with RAM. You may want to look at LLC. I have similar setup, and LLC at 3 made a big difference.

but can a stable cpu oc crash the overclock? ill try with the llc on soon

If the OC were stable it wouldn't crash. Something is causing issues. Reset BIOS by clearing CMOS and see it's you can get it to boot.

I have to clear cmos everytime i have a bad oc, it wont go into bios if the OC is bad

I just tried llc mode 3 without ram OC, it stays on, but doesnt post.

You need 5/6/7

MSI has preprogrammed 7 levels from which 4 are pointless.

Ok trying this

@Ryujin2003Now clear cmos does nothing, wont post to bios regardless. Even took out battery and still wont boot

Edit: cmos cleared when unplugged
