I'm having a problem with my PC, it started a few weeks ago.

When I power it on, it usually restarts a lot of times before booting and even before passing the BIOS screen and, eventually, the OS. (with a considerable "time" powered on between each restart) I thought that could be a power supply problem, so I changed it and the same problem keeps happening.

The thing is that sometimes the "time" powered on  between each restart is very short and it would never boot. Then I found out that by removing the battery from the motherboard, from time to time, I would have again those "long times between every restart", and my system would eventually restart a lot of times but it would boot.

The motherboard is only 4 years old, so I find it a bit difficult to have had a problem with it, but I don't know anymore.

Could that be a problem with my motherboard? Could it be a BIOS problem?  Any ideas of how to fix this kind of problem? Couldn't find a solution, I really need help :(, thanks.

Things I've tried:

- Replacing power supply (twice).

- Updating BIOS.

- Replacing motherboard's battery.

- Replacing RAM.

- Using it without my graphics card.

- Changing the operational system.

System specs:

- WINDOWS 10 HOME EDITION.

- GIGABYTE H61M - DS2H.

- CORSAIR 750W 80 PLUS GOLD Modular.

- I3 3240 3.4 Ghz.

- 8GB CORSAIR RAM.

- GTX 960 ASUS STRIX 2GB.

- BARRACUDA HD 500GB.

Does the PC still boot after a while or is it stuck in a never ending loop?

Ifyou have another PC then test your parts in another PC and see if it still works. Then you can ignore all the parts that work.

Sometimes it feels like it's a little random. It restarts sometimes until it eventually boot. Sometimes it restarts a lot of times, sometimes it's very quick and sometimes I need to remove the battery from the motherboard and insert it again and begin this "cycle" of restarts to boot it up.

Looks like a failing motherboard to me.

Once i had the same problem as you, until the motherboard eventually never boots again.

I would sell the motherboard while its still booting.

yes, you might be surprised that some people (especially repair shops) do buy those stuff even the dead ones.

make sure you listed the problem.

I'll make some other tests to make sure it is near death :/

I'm not ready to let it die yet, but thanks for the info.
