Windows cannot be installed to this disk...

'Windows cannot be installed to this disk. This computer's hardware may not support booting to this disk. Ensure that the disk's controller is enabled in the computer's BIOS menu'

 

A computer came into store and after formatting the device and attempting to reinstall Windows, I was hit with this hurdle.

I have formatted and re-partitioned the HDD through command line using DiskPart on numerous occassions, I have looked in the BIOS but cannot see any setting that could be stopping the re-installation of Windows; I have tried various types of recovery media both at 64bit and 32bit.

 

Has anyone encountered this before and is able to provide a solution?

what windows? maybe uefi turned off.

windows can be installed on blank hdd.
