Hi guys,

I just wanted to ask something about RX 460s. I already have a RX 460 and thinking of upgrading my GPU, it's been pointed out before that crossfiring them is not good really due to its price point at the time. I've read from other communities that two RX 460 is as good as one RX 470 in which i don't have personal experience of so i can't really tell how good that is, also buying them also cost as the same as an RX 470. Well right now in my country (sorry for my bad engrish) the price of RX 460s has been cut and now only costs about $90-100USD. So my question is does crossfiring 2 RX 460 a good option to upgrade? Or just sell my current RX 460 and buy a GTX 1060 which right now here in my country costs about $238USD.

Honestly the 460's are a very poor choice for crossfiring. You're talking about using 2 cards to run games at 1080p high to max settings. Most people crossfire to get higher than 1080p performance. So it's kind of a waste.

Just get a 1060 if you can. Preferably a 6GB model, but 3GB can run games just fine too.

I have a 460 and I unlocked the stream processors, basically making it a 560. Beats out stock RX 560s at 1080p Normal/High settings, falls short of 1050tis. Not sure where you read that dual 460s will be on par with a 470, but that sounds pretty bogus. Crossfire is practically dead since the RX release. The performance doesn't scale well enough to justify it, not many games support it and doing so on lower end hardware simply doesn't make enough sense.

If what you're reading IS true, then why not just sell the 460 and get a 470? Sounds like you have the money for another 460, so selling your current one and opting for a better GPU seems the logical solution.

Go 1060

Thanks for the insight guys I'll do that. I'm just really amaze at crossfire systems and thinking of trying them out myself but i guess its not really something that gives you an advantage.

On older cards and some editing software, yes there is more of an advantage. But even still it's limited in usefulness. Very few titled utilize Xfire/SLI and those that do only do so marginally. Like said above, mostly just for higher resolution while maintaining framerates at the same quality settings. It's not worth the investment unless there are particular cases for it.
