Reverse GPU cooling

I'm looking for a GPU that is either flipped or has the fans on what would be the back side of regular GPU's. As you can see in the attached image i have very little space for any modern GPU.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but if it's on the rear, wouldn't it not cool the GPU itself? Blowing on the PCB seems like it would do little.

The board it self would have to be flipped, so that's why i'm wondering if this is a thing

They don't make GPU's like the one you are talking about.

Yeah, no I don't believe it is a thing. I suppose you could try to DIY it, but that would come with some risk.

Mod the case if you need to. It doesn't look very expensive to me.

The short answer is no, there are no video cards built "upside down". The best you can slip in there these days would be a single slot cooler, but good luck finding that on something lower than a GTX 1050 (they make them, but they're stupid hard to find)

 

The case also looks like a low-profile one, which makes finding a decent card even worse. At best, you're looking at probably a GT 1030 for something modern.

 

EDIT: There might be either a cooler or graphics card where the heat sink wraps around, but I don't know of anything off the top of my head.

if it's the top it's even better because it's not sitting on the desk. and you can't break anything cutting up the case (as long as you have everything pulled out first)

Anyways, what I was planning to get for him was a GT 1030. Those things run very cool (30W TDP) and you can buy fanless ones.

Thanks for this suggestion. Never looked for  a GT 1030 and it seems like it would work well looking at pictures on amazon.

Best card you can fit in there without case mods and/or PSU limitations.
