My buddy is building a ryzen pc in another state. He cant seem to install the IO shield in the slot correctly. I've done my best to instruct him but he isn't listening anymore and is frustrated. he is trying to install a ASRock AB350M Pro4 Micro ATX IO shield into a Cooler master master case pro 3. Can anyone find a video that will help him? I've linked him 1 or 2 and he claims they didn't help him. I uploaded a picture of the io shield that he sent me.

Here is where I would keep my frolics if I had any.

It can take a fair amount of force to get it in. Also, push on each corner to get each to pop in. Also, make sure the little angled bits on each port are facing into the case.

I told him to give it a fair bit for force and work the edges. I told him that he needed to take a break from the build , all the frustration and anger wasn't helping. My hope is that to night he can do it with a clearer head.

lol he wanted to try that. I told him that the only way it can be installed was from the inside. Dear god he really wanted it to install it from the outside, it took too much effort telling him off.

Yeah, thought so.. have seen this before :D

I have an idea, why not facetime/video chat with him on your phone and either show him how, or talk him through it by seeing what he is doing wrong.

You could use the inbuilt video chat in firefox maybe?  it would be better to SEE what he is doing wrong to try and help him I feel.

I noticed you are using the same motherboard as my buddy. did you have any issues with it? was the io shield a pain at all?

No, it's just a regular IO shield. I think he's probably just not being forceful enough, thinking he will break it.
