Hello,

I currently have a Gtx970 SLI with 16gb ddr3 ram and AmdFx 8350.

The issue i have is that i would like to stream games such as overwatch and fortnite. When i try stream League of Legends runs good both in game and stream but when i try streaming fortnite and Overwatch my stream lags.

I Believe its my cpu since thats what usually Obs uses. My gpu seems to be really good for those games that i currently play.

What do i need  to change and whats the best at the lowest price.

I was thinking of getting an i7(with a new motherboard and Ram since it requires a different one than my asus 970 pro gaming/aura which doesnt support those cpus)

or maybe a Ryzen 7 one but i dunno which one would be better i found a few bundles and they are similar prizes like maybe 50-80 pounds difference.

Any suggestions ?

For these games a Ryzen 5 1600 will do well enough at a good price.

For gaming while streaming, Ryzen is a better choice. Starting from the R5 1600 and up you will see a tangible difference on your current platform AND an i7 equivalent (excluding Z370 due to the cost).

A 1600 + B350 for overclock and 16gb of ram is probably the best money-friendly choice.

thank you, i will wait a bit more to have enough money. I was not sure if ryzen 5 was enough because every streamer i checked had an i7 6700k or 7700k which is probably that they got enough money . But thank you for the info

The fact is that the 6700 or 7700 are better for JUST GAMING. Usually, streamers have a separated capture card connected to a second PC whose only purpose is to stream the image. Therefore, they have the gaming machine, the capture card and the streaming machine.

If you want to do "all in one", with still a quality loss just a lot minor, you need more cores and threads. That's where the Ryzen shines.
