Hey, I just found out I can upgrade my phone. I have an S7 Edge on Verizon. I like it enough but I can notice it slowing down. There is a ton of crappy Samsung and Verizon bloatware for sure. I had a Nexus 6P before and loved stock Android. Before that I had only iPhones every year and I'm not really interested in going back to them. Should I upgrade to a Pixel 2 XL (which I really like), keep my S7 edge for a while, or wait to see what the new Samsung phones are like in March? Verizon has the Pixel 2 and 2 XL for $300 off right now. And they are offering me $189 for my S7 Edge.

Just clean the bloatware because phones slowing down aren't caused by the phone itself it's caused by you and the stuff you download so get clean up your phone real good

I do that on a pretty regularly basis. I keep it really clean and do a factory reset every few months. The problem is that a lot of the bloatware can't be deleted. Some just disabled and some you can't get rid of at all.

Why limit yourself to Samsung? There are so, so many more handset producers than just them. I'd wait personally. We're really close to MWC, when most companies release their new phones for the year.

This shouldn't have been posted in General. There's a specific subforum for topics like this.

That's true. I have looked at the V30 too. I like it but I'm just not crazy about it. Unfortunately the 1+ 5t doesn't work on Verizon and neither does the Razer phone. CDMA kind of sucks like that. Which forum should I have posted in? Didn't mean to offend.

I reset. My s7 once every 3ish months or it just bogs. But in your situation. I would just wait it out if you can. As long as the phone isn't two slow to use it works.

So I decided to go with the Pixel 2 XL. Best phone I've ever had. I do notice the blue shift, but it's really not that bad. It is so buttery smooth. Makes iPhones and Galaxy's performance look like a joke. Reminds me of iOS 5 and 6 on my iPhone 4s and 5.  iOS has  really gotten sloppy and choppy since iOS 7. Took me a while to admit it. Samsung has gotten better but after a few months it is very noticeable how unpolished it is.
