Keyboard Choice

0v3rPix

Hi, I trying to choose the best keyboard for me but i can't decide or find a good one.

The key features that I'd like to have: $100-$200, RGB, Wirst rest, Media keys, Macro keys, Usb passthrough, Mechanical or "Mecha-membrane" switches, etc

Here's a few that interest me: Logitech Pro, Logitech G613, Corsair Strafe RGB Slient, Razer ornata

Can someone tell me which one is better.

I'm open to all suggestions

Thanks ;)

Anything that is not Razer. Razer products are extremely over priced ($100+ for a membrane keyboard? Come on.) and are known to be built like absolute crap. Many instances of them breaking within a few months. Arguably worse than those off brand mechanical keyboards from Shenzhen.

If you playing racing games (GTA 5 also count, everything with cars...) I think you should go with the world first analog keyboard...

but it doesn't have: Macro keys, Usb passthrough (you can buy usb extension cable for around 10$), Wirst rest (there are awesome in amazon for 10-20$).

It has RGB, Mechanical switches, media keys (but with 2 clicks with Fn key).

you could swap between blue & red (maybe more in the future) each individual key...

Razer is garbage, don't buy Razer!

Corsair have good keyboards but most of them have numpad which is suck for fps games (you get 10cm less for your mouse movement), or you could go with their tenless key keyboard, but they has only red/mx speed which isn't good for typing.

Ok, I would like to check what is best for you, answer this question:

1) What type of games you are playing, race/fps/moba?

2) Do you type a lot?

3) Do you care about the noise from the keyboard (also apply for recording gameplay youtube videos)?

4) Do you use numpad?

5) Does macros are important to you (if yes, how many would you like to use)?

Thanks a lot, here are the answers:

1) I play more FPS (Overwatch/Fortnite Battle Royale)

2) Yes (Homeworks)

3) I'd like it to be a slient as possible (I live with other people)

4) Rarely

5) Not really

1) FPS doesn't really benefit from analog input from wooting one and they don't have brown switch yet (they would have somewhere around 2Q of 2018)...

Razer has bad quality, corsair doesn't have keyboard with brown switch & without numpad...

2) You wouldn't like red/MX silent/MX speed, it linear, which mean you would not feel the click that tell you click the key.

3) MX brown would be good, you would feel click, but It's not loud as blue...

4) since you play a lot of fps games it would be better without the numpad, but if you feel you missed it you always could buy one separately so if you game you put it away, if you work you could use it...

here one: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01E8U8HKW/ref=twister_B01KVFBJ8A?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1

5) The hand on your keyboard is very busy: waaawssddsawasdwwwwas...

it wouldn't have time to press the macros on the keyboard.

So you could go with keyboard without macros, but mouse macros (I recommend g502 from logitech) could be very useful, it would put your other fingers (which usually just sitting on the mouse) at work.

I'm checking keyboards on the market, I be back in few hours with an answer...
