Hi guys,

I am looking into building myself my first gaming desktop. After watching all these videos that Linus does I have been interested even more than usual to build my first desktop.  I have looked at some of his current build suggestions, for example ones that he did in the Christmas season videos. My budget doesn't really work for the Game On build.  Currently I have a  HP Envy 700-414 Desktop PC Intel i5-4570 3.2GHz 12GB DDR3 2TB Windows 10 that I did put a little GTX 970 graphics card that made the games a bit better but I can't play all of my favorite games.  So I would love any build suggestions that you have.  I am looking to spend up to about a $1,000.  I don't mind a bit more over that but nothing to crazy.  Any suggestions would be amazing.

TBH, your rig looks nice enough that i'd just upgrade it with a 1070/ti/1080, a better PSU and maybe an i7/xeon.

Well it will be in USD. I don't use a regular monitor I use a 48in TV.  Which the resolution my computer defaults too while on it is 1360x768. Storage I will need a lot but hard drives aren't too bad in price that I couldn't get more or larger later.  I do have 2x TB WD external hard drives that could provide temporary storage. I will need to get a version of windows, and as far as frame rate and refresh rate I am not sure.  The two main games I wanna play on Med/High settings would be Diablo III and Space Engineers.

I am glad to see my Desktop actually has some potential the only issue I could see is that is one massive graphics card I don't think I have the space in the case for it to fit.  I will upload some pictures that I have of the motherboard.

saw an image online that said the envy had enough gpu length for it, you can try measuring it and finding it out for yourself.

https://pcpartpicker.com/product/K3Jkcf/gigabyte-geforce-gtx-1080-8gb-d5x-video-card-gv-n1080d5x-8gd this one's 280mm, should fit better if the duke's too big.
