yes, a 550w unit is more than enough for a 1600+1070ti combo

750w is overkill when you can't even SLI on the motherboard

Yeah, but it's not that much more. Sure, a CX550 (2017) can run this build but it will run hotter (aka louder) and won't be as efficient - the Seasonic unit is discounted and is only 15$ more. I'd say it's worth it, especially if you're getting additional 200W of headroom ^_^

pretty sure the CX550 has the same warranty as the GQ, corsair lists it as 5 years.

You can overclock fine on a CX550W, however, I would suggest getting a motherboard that has better VRMs for overclocking. The Asus B350 Prime Plus is OK and better than your Tomahawk.
