So im kinda new to this really badly need a new computer than my current laptop i use in which currents specs would be:

Intel Core i3-6100U CPU @ 2.3ghz with the intel HD Graphics 520 with 8gb of ram and a 1tb hard drive with a resolution of 1366x768 15.6in screen... i might be missing a few things about it but thats like my current state of my computer and

1. Budget & Location

my budget would be $1000 USD maybe a little bit less and im in the US of the A

2. Aim

i would like the computer to be good enough so that i would be able to play arma 3 at an optimal rate in which on my current laptop i can play arma at the lowest settings possible and get 40 fps max depending on what we are doing and how many guys are in the server and what is happening

3. Monitors

at the moment i would only be able and would prefer only buying 1 since i dont have a lot of room but soon would like to get at most 2

4. Peripherals

i have a mouse and keyboard for my laptop that i use, i will need to get the Windows OS preferably 10 and as i said in the point above i would need to purchase atleast 1 monitor for now

5. Why are you upgrading?

i have had my current laptop for about 2-3 years and using it very intensively pushing the CPU to its limit and its just dying on me... ive checked for driver updates that i can get or any other updates for the computer to try to improve it but its just dying on me and i use the computer everyday for work and i overall would like a better computer that im not gonna push to its limits hopefully as a lot of the games i play almost max the computers CPU disk and memory(as per what the task manager is saying) as it can become useless for several minutes at a time because of this and if any other information is needed im more than happy to provide

oh, missed that... used monitors are cheap https://portland.craigslist.org/search/syp?query=monitor  OP could drop down to a 1070 and probably find one for much gaming fun. up to them

if you're just picking at random, yeah, but I've found some really good used monitors for good prices. that monitor you listed doesn't look all that great though either for the price https://displaylag.com/benq-gw2765ht-review-1440p-ips-monitor/

If I had $1000 to budget a tower and monitor this would be my choice:

https://pcpartpicker.com/list/L4kh4C

CPU: AMD - Ryzen 3 1200 3.1GHz Quad-Core Processor  ($99.99 @ Amazon)
Motherboard: ASRock - X370 KILLER SLI/ac ATX AM4 Motherboard  ($99.99 @ Newegg)
Memory: G.Skill - Trident Z 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR4-3466 Memory  ($101.99 @ Newegg)
Storage: SanDisk - X400 256GB 2.5" Solid State Drive  ($72.50 @ Newegg Marketplace)
Video Card: PowerColor - Radeon RX 570 4GB RED DRAGON Video Card  ($179.99 @ Newegg)
Case: Phanteks - ECLIPSE P400S TEMPERED GLASS ATX Mid Tower Case  ($84.99 @ Amazon)
Power Supply: SeaSonic - FOCUS Plus Gold 750W 80+ Gold Certified Fully-Modular ATX Power Supply  ($64.90 @ Newegg)
Monitor: Acer - GN246HL 24.0" 1920x1080 144Hz Monitor  ($187.49 @ B&H)
Other: Win 10 Home Flash Drive ($119.99)
Total: $1011.83

LOGIC (README):

You may wonder why the GPU and CPU seem so underwhelming with this budget. Here's my logic. AM4 will be supported through 2020, so a CPU upgrade will definitely be available without a platform upgrade since the Mobo and memory are strong components in this build (unless more memory is to be purchased to up the capacity to 16 GB). The mobo also comes with wifi, so no need to purchased a wifi card if Ethernet isn't available. The RX 570 is almost as powerful as an RX 580, so saving the $70 over an RX 580 seems worthwhile on this budget. Either way, GPUs are VERY easy to upgrade at any later point. The 256 GB SSD should be enough space before ~$40 in funds can be allocated to a 1TB WD Blue. The case likely won't ever be replaced (or at least many many years), so a nice case should be a priority which can be found in this build. I found the power supply on sale and it seemed like a good buy (Seasonics are usually reputable... this is where I'm the least confident in this build though, so I'm expecting to be called out here).

PS:

There are ways to get windows for much cheaper. Look up Windows for $20 from Paul's hardware. This build focused on using completely clean methods to obtain the parts... I can't speak for where the codes are sourced from in Paul's video.

CPU: i7 4790k @ 4.7 GHz

GPU: XFX GTS RX580 4GB

Cooling: Corsair h100i

Mobo: Asus z97-A

RAM: 4x8 GB 1600 MHz Corsair Vengence

PSU: Corsair HX850

Case: NZXT S340 Elite Tempered glass edition

Display: LG 29UM68-P

Keyboard: Roccat Ryos MK FX RGB

Mouse: Logitech g900 Chaos Spectrum

Headphones: Sennheiser HD6XX

OS: Windows 10 Home
