So the problem is this i have a Gigabyte X370 Gaming K5 motherboard with a Ryzen 7 cpu yesterday i bought an Asus Strix Mobo because of better VRM, Bios support, and when i was taken apart the pc when i lifted the retention arm of the socket to remove the cpu i found that the preassure or force that the retention arm apply is not released even when is supposed to do.

I did a little of research about this problems for older plattforms but i didin't find enough information about it, i was thinking that maybe taking apart the socket would help me revome the cpu without damaging the pins.

if anyone knows a better solution to this problem i would like to know.

use a small suction cup and carefully pull the CPU out being careful to apply even pressure?

Like the retention arm is just broken, Doesn't move the socket at all? If you watch the movement it seems to just move the socket forward/backwards a bit...Don't take my advice, but maybe you could lift up the arm and just nudge it a bit to try and free the CPU and get the socket to move.

I edit my posts a lot, Twitter is @LordStreetguru just don't ask PC questions there mostly...

Spoiler

What is your budget/country for your new PC?

what monitor resolution/refresh rate?

What games or other software do you need to run?

You can see that there's some slight movement when moving the arm up or down
