If you're going that route there is an 8GB 580, just depends on sale prices, it is cyber monday.

The 580 is still going to have an advantage in the usual titles that are like DX12/Vulkan

A lot more now, and more in the future...as it's the newest APIs that most everyone will be using because they're so great if you put the work in as shown by DOOM.

NO in fact u dont have to worry about anti aliasing at all.

Just use FXAA or 4x MSAA and u are gtg.

If u can find the 8GB for a lil bit more money go for that one.

580 is better overall u can even buy free-sync monitor for tearing free gaming which is much more cheaper than G-sync monitor and just fyi you cant use amd gpu with g-sync monitor and vice versa.

You can use it but u wont be able to use free-sync or g-sync feature.

If u dont know what free and g-sync is *GOOGLE IT or create another thread.

Just get whichever is cheaper. They score almost identical in every category. In some areas the 580 scored slightly higher, in others the 1060 won out.

Either card will be great and chances are you wouldn't be able to tell a difference in games anyway

I'd go 1060 6Gb based on simply the heat output and power consumption.

Doesn't take long to open up Wattman or Trixx and drop your voltage on the 580 by say -60mV

Then go for GTX 1060 6 GB cause you are gonna benefit from VRAM and most of games are optimized for NVIDIA GPU's

If you paid money to have to drop the voltage to your GPU... me thinks they messed up. I just saw Jayz older video where Asus sent him a Strix and it was pure shit. He could barely OC it at all... like.... the reference was better, lol. I plugged my card in and boom...it just worked as intended.

AMD just runs higher voltages at stock as it will work in 100% of scenarios, if you undervolt for example you might fail in a GPU intensive task like blender rendering.

If you play a lot of FPS games, your next monitor should likely be 144hz, where AMD is going to save you about $100 and get you a better for daily use VA panel with this pixio display
