What would a 4K/UHD monitor look like on a 965M Card

What would my new monitor (ASUS MG28UQ, a 4k UHD monitor), hooked up to my ROG G752VL laptop (Has a NVIDIA GTX 965M card in it).

Would it be 4k or 1080p resolution?

What do you mean? You can choose the resolution. If the card supports 4K, then you can use 4K.

Main System: Phobos

Secondary System: York

Intel Core i7-2600 (4C/8T), ASUS P8Z68-V/GEN3, 16GB GEIL Enhance Corsa DDR3 1600MHz, Zotac GeForce GTX 550 Ti 1GB, 240GB ADATA Ultimate SU650, Windows 10 Pro for Workstations

Older File Server: Yet to be named

Intel Pentium 4 HT (1C/2T), Intel D865GBF, 3GB DDR 400MHz, ATI Radeon HD 4650 1GB (HIS), 80GB WD Caviar, 320GB Hitachi Deskstar, Windows XP Pro SP3, Windows Server 2003 R2

Looked in to it more,  I just wasn't sure because my laptop is running 1080 and I assumed that was my graphics cards maximum

Why would it be? That’s just the internal display’s native resolution.

I'm a newbie to actually going beyond buying something off the shelf when it comes to electronics.
