I imagine this is a Sony VAIO with the Nvidia 410M gpu? I would post this on the Sony Community forum and see what luck you have there. Have you tried testing the that the GPU has failed entirely?

what about device manager any error codes there?

whats the generic 3d manager profile state about gpu?

i bet it has to do with the intel management engine

disable it in device manager then restart system as worst case is a reinstall of OS
