I'll cut to the chase. I'm comparing 2 laptops which are extremely similar but one has better performance while the other has better build quality.  Let's assume they are of the same price. Here they are:

 

1. Acer Aspire E14 E5-476G-54G4

+ i5-8250U, 4 cores, 8 threads

- 768p resolution

- Smaller, 14" screen

 

2. Acer Aspire 5 A515-51G-54RN

+ Larger, 15.6" screen

+ 1080p resolution

+ Good build quality

- i5-7200U, 2 cores, 4 threads

 

So, which of the 2 should I get? I can't decide which to prioritize. Inner or outer beauty? What do you guys think? Please elaborate on your choice. Thanks! :)

The first one is stupid. 14" 768p monitor? Isnt that like pouring curry all over a chocolate cake.... This one only makes sense if you use external monitors a lot.

 

The second one is good but outdated. Whether I recommend it or not depends on the price.

I use a larger, 18" 768p monitor if I get the laptop with the 14" 768p display. However, if I get the 15.6" 1080p one, I'll ditch my external monitor.

I'd get the one with 1080p monitor then. As long as you dont do CPU heavy work (server-based games and paperwork for example) it wont be noticeably slower than that with 8th gen CPU.
