do you guys prefer a metal backplate on your mechanical keyboards? or just dislike the sharp clacky noise it makes and how loud it is. Me personally its ok but i dont like how it feels compared to a plastic backplate that feels a bit more satisfying.

I don't like steel plates as they tend to reverb and amplify the ping from the switch springs. I have one board with aluminum plate and one with carbon fiber which tend to deaden the sound better. But I also installed dampening silicon under the PCB which helps a lot. I've never had an all plastic mechanical keyboard.
