hi

is it normal or ok to have 5,400 or 5,440v on the 5v ?

i did experience few shut downs folowed by "power surge" detected from mother board during reboot

psu ~ 6 years http://www.corsair.com/en-gb/hx620w

asus sabertooth z77, cpu i7 3770k, aio cooler lepa 240, msi gtx 970, 4x 4gb ddr3(@1600mz), 2x raid0 ssd, 2x hdd, 3x 120mm fan, 3x 140mm fan

do i need to buy a new psu?(if yes an corsair AX 860W will it be good to have for future changes?), can i do something to lower the 5V values?

thx

AIDA64 isn't a good thing to measure voltage with. You'd want something like the Corsair Link hardware in an RMi or a really expensive Sunmoon machine to measure the rail voltage. If your system is working fine don't worry about it.

My account is almost entirely dormant. Hope you all are having a grand time. Many years of fun were had here.

well the corsair hx620 just died while watching online video... :(

lucky me i did had another i5 pc not used and replaced the psu  http://www.thermaltake.com/products-model.aspx?id=C_00002714

my previous question still remains: do i need to buy a new psu?, something like Corsair AX 860W ( http://www.corsair.com/en-eu/ax860-atx-power-supply-860-watt-80-plus-platinum-certified-fully-modular-psu ) will it be good to have for future changes/upgrades ?
